Vehicle safety and liability

Effective 3 November 2026.

This notice is part of the Terms of use.

1. Reading data

To read fault codes and data, the adapter sends the car standard diagnostic requests. These requests only read and change nothing in the car, so they need no separate confirmation.

2. Any change only after you confirm it

Clearing fault codes, service functions and any other write to the car's bus happen only after you confirm that action on the confirmation screen. It says in plain words what will happen and which control units it reaches.

3. Never while the car moves

At the moment you confirm an action, the Service checks the car's speed. The action runs only when the car is standing. If the car is moving, or its speed cannot be read, the action is refused.

4. What the Service never does

To airbag and seat-belt-pretensioner units the Service sends only reads, identification and a clear of codes you confirmed. Deploying an airbag is forbidden under any circumstances.

We do not bypass car makers' protected gateways. Where a gateway restricts writing, the app says so.

5. Clearing codes and service functions

A clear erases the stored fault codes from the control units together with their freeze-frame data. Through an OBD adapter the clear goes to every emissions-related control unit at once, and the confirmation screen says so.

Before a clear or a service function, meet every condition the app names — for example, the engine stopped, the car standing, the ignition on — including any about the engine and the battery. Do not start the action if you cannot meet them.

6. Third-party OBD adapters

Through a third-party OBD adapter the Service makes only one kind of write — a clear of codes you confirmed. The third-party adapter itself checks nothing, and we are not responsible for how it works or its quality.

7. You stay responsible

You are responsible for your car, for the decisions you make and for safety on the road. Do not use the app while driving. Everything you do with your car is at your own risk; the Service is provided "as is", without any warranty, express or implied. The assistant's answers can be wrong: when in doubt, see a qualified mechanic. The limits of our liability are in the Terms of use, section 9.
